    How To Define Emo Clothes
Emo clothes are a hard thing to define if you have no idea of what they may be. Emo clothes are inspired by a type of music, which has its roots in early eighties hardcore. You could say that emo is combined with more melodic and experimental music. Like all forms of expression, emo clothes are representative of that image. People dressing in emo clothes like to be noted for their individuality and expression, yet they are in danger of all looking the same. The problem with emo clothes is that they are worn as a kind of uniform. Unfortunately, although dressing in emo clothes is supposed to say something about how rebellious and individual you are, if you dress the same as others you do run the risk of looking like you are dressing to a pattern, therefore going against everything that emo clothes represent. A classic sign of emo clothes are the ill fitting garments. Everything to do with emo clothes are about rebellion, and therefore most of the items worn in emo clothes are ill fitting – too tight or too baggy. Emo clothes are usually worn in layers, with cardigans and v-neck jumpers stretched tightly over undershirts. The whole image with emo clothes is one of disarray, of taking the conventional and turning it upside down. Emo clothes are limited to an age group, that of the teenage rebellion. Sometimes adults do dress in emo clothes, but it is mostly limited to the teenagers who listen to a certain type of music and want to express themselves through dress. Because of this emo clothes do not have a loyal group who are committed. People wearing emo clothes are constantly changing; growing out of emo clothes and therefore it is a hard group to define – like many fashion groups.

Dressing Emo, time to try it out?
Like a new-age wave of fashion Emo has taken over a way to dress. Many would proclaim it is not just a fashion statement but a way of "life." From whatever race to gender it doesn't matter if you want to dress emo you can all you have to know is what clothes to buy, shoes to wear and of course like every fashion statement the accessories and shoes. Older t-shirts with the confusing yet funny random slogans are a must!! You can pick these up in the kids department or in your little brothers room if it contains any. Since the shirts should be tight fighting even possibly showing your stomach and how deathly thin you are ignore the weird looks when you shop around in the kids section. This is the emo way to dress. You might even quite possibly pull off a (IZOD) polo make sure the colar is popped. You may be thinking "I believe that is not an emo stand point." But on the contrary it is. As long as it still has a rugged look and it fits tight you got it in the bag baby!
How to Dress Emo TipsEmo dressing it not hard bsut simple in the way of putting things together all you need is direction and you are on your way. So for those cold nights trying to cover up with jackets such as old viet (vietnam style) jackets or anything your mom and dad might have worn in the 70's. Sweater and hoodies are a must, anything with darker colors old bands or even new aged emo bands tampered right on the front is the emo dressing winter trademark. Now we will get into the pants. Let me start by saying shorts are not ALLOWED. Not even in the hottest of weather should they be worn. They are simply not cool enough to be a emo style. Guys and girls can wear the girl pants, because just like the shirts they should fit really tight. They may not even have to go down to your feet all the way if you like the high water look. Even dickies could be worn. Try colors like Blue, Black, Brown and Gray. Now for the emo shoes!! Converse are a HOT must have! They can be worn in any color or style. You could even take a sharpie and right vulger things all over them so your shoes were a walking advertisment. Just make sure these shoes are made in the USA, the quality is better. Older style shoes possibley 70's-80's style are a good start too. You can even get newer knock off brands of expensive shoes such as nike, or adidas the knock off brands usually have more of a different more emo look to them. Emo dressing is not gender specific, guys and girls can wear any of these. The thick chunky black square framed glasses. Also for accessories the trucker hats of any color can go with your emo style as well. So for the emo ladies and emo gentleman, we have now sucessfully covered the way to dress emo. Remember to have fun with it and let you come out. Emo is a way of expression!

EMO clothes, like other EMO fashion and hairstyles are characterized by the basic trait of EMO that dictates non-conformation to the mainstream society. EMO boys and girls could be spotted with typical hand sewn skirts and shirts made from multiple fabrics, tight jeans, baggy pants, short T-Shirts with variety of slogans and tight and short slacks. Despite its stereotype clothing sense, EMO do often tend to try out new and trendy dresses and accessories.
