Most emo-type people wear tight pants and kid-sized full bleed t-shirts with old school sneakers, such as Chuck Taylors, 1980s style Reeboks, or Sauconys . Flannel shirts, popped collars, trucker hats, oversized sunglasses, long hair, and faux-hawks are also popular. A faux-hawk is a really wide mo-hawk that isn't as drastic or as eye catching as a traditional mo-hawk.
Emo makeup for boys is really, really simple. Most of the time, all that you need is a good black eyeliner and a steady hand. However, if you would like to use another color, you can do that too.
First of all, for a guy, you don’t have to worry about foundation unless you would really like to. If you do decide to wear foundation, make sure that it is only one or two shades lighter than your skin tone if it isn’t the actual (or very close) to your natural shade. Do your best to make sure that the foundation is well blended downwards into your neck so that it looks seamless; you don’t want to look like you’re wearing a mask.
For eyeliner, while the usual standby is just to put a tiny bit under the eyes and neatly smudge it. However, you can also extend it slightly out the sides if you like or you can even use a little bit of black eyeshadow in order to darken it. Or you can use blue or purple or bright neon green to add a spark of color.
Guys can wear eyeshadow too, but it is recommended that it’s not sparkly or ridiculously bright. Bright eyeshadow in moderation, lightly applied is perfectly fine.
Guys don’t normally wear lip color, but a little bit of deep red or black never hurts. If you want to play it safe, just use a little bit of chapstick or your favorite lip balm.
