Emo Tattoos, Go Hand in Hand with Emo Hairstyles

Emo Tattoos, Go Hand in Hand with Emo Hairstyles

In the world of emo, you choose the tattoo that is right for you, and that is an emo tattoo! There is no right or wrong, no tattoo regulatory body, no law about what makes a tattoo emo. That being said, when you look at the world of emo style, certain choices in skin art imagery are more popular than others.

One of these images is called the emo star, a simple and unadorned five-pointed star, usually blue, such as decorate the American flag. Hearts also pop up all the time among tattooed subjects from the emo world, although sometimes they are not valentines, but rather throbbing organs that are medically accurate. One emo heart is a rounded valentine with a bandaid on it! Another popular motif is the emo tear. This is a clever little image that gets its impact from where it is placed.

The emo tear is a small teardrop, about the size of a pea, which is put on the side of one of the fingers. When you lift your hand to your eyes and mime rubbing them, your fingers curl and reveal these teardrops. Otherwise these little marks are usually invisible. The emo tattoo can also reflect the pervasive concerns of emo culture, including sadness, grief, and depression. One image of a little girl made out of cardboard boxes smoking and weeping evokes a strong feeling of pathos in the onlooker. Finally, script messages in gothic lettering can often be found in emo skin art.
